It’s our NOMADAVERSARY!!!
TWO YEARS AGO TODAY… WE STARTED AS FULL-TIME RVers!
And WOW what an amazing two years it has been!
Please read to the end or at least skip to the last sentence!
Over the past two years, we have:
~ Lived in Minnesota, New Mexico, Texas, Michigan, Texas (again), Illinois, and Michigan (again).
~ Driven semi-trucks with dump trailers during the sugarbeet harvest and plowed hundreds of acres with giant John Deere tractors and disc plows.
~Worked at an interstate rest area in customer service, selling snacks, souvenirs, and jewelry.
~Worked at a small campground in the Texas panhandle doing housekeeping for five rental cabins and a laundromat.
~Helped resurrect a rundown campground into a beautiful getaway in the Sister Lakes of SW Michigan.
~Worked as gate guards at two different oil drilling sites in the deep south, Permian Basin of Texas 24/7 for 76 days straight.
~ Worked for free and for pay.
~ Survived 90 MPH sustained winds in Texas.
~Travelled across the US/Mexico border for a dental visit, teeth cleaning and lunch.
~Completed many RV inspections for customers of Shamrock RV Service.
~Cruised across the North Atlantic Ocean from New York to Southampton, England.
~Toured New York City and London.
~Travelled around Ireland for three weeks in 2024
~Cancelled a planned five-week trip to Portugal, Spain, and Italy, including a six-night cruise of the Mediterranean for February of this year. We will replan this trip for the future.
~Moved Chris’ mom into an assisted living facility.
~Traveled to Ireland a few weeks ago, for the second time since “quit-iring,” to surprise our daughter Bridget and her husband with a pint in Dublin.
~Had two “Family Gatherings”, one in Salt Lake City and one in Georgetown, Colorado.
~Had ups and downs, laughs and tears, joys and heartbreaks, sleepless nights and long days.
~Still have Texas dust in the RV.
~Had frozen pipes, a leaking toilet, a broken bathroom exhaust fan, a leaking roof (that led to an entire roof replacement), and water alarms that did their job three or four different times!
~Been overrun with Asian Beetles and Stink Bugs.
~Chris has had LOTS of campfires and many new beers.
~Had three tire blowouts on the RV while travelling.
~Met up with lots of friends and family. Some friends we met with we hadn’t spoken with or seen in over 40 years!
~Found about 50 geocaches…and we’re still looking!
Our journey is not one for the meek or weak of heart. But it is a journey for us. We absolutely LOVE our “house” and LOVE our journey. Please keep us in your prayers for another successful, adventure filled and healthy year!

We RVery Blessed!

We HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Lyn Kur as a real estate agent in the Plainfield/Joliet area. She listed our house and had several contracts within 12 hours!

What we used to call “Home, Sweet Home”

Here we are after the closing on the house holding the proceeds check!

The back of our RV has a giant decal of our “We RVery Blessed” website and Facebook page.

Welcome…When will YOU come to visit us at the campground in Michigan?

We spend about six weeks at the old Yogi Bear in Millbrook, before celebrating our “quit-irement” with a trip to Ireland.

Here we are about to cross the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

We are about to board the Queen Mary II for a transatlantic trip from New York to Southampton, England.

Fancy night on the Queen Mary II.

Chris and Ken outside the King’s horse stable.

Ken standing on both sides of the Prime Meridian, in Greenwich, England.

We are about to take a “Jaunting Cart” ride at the Killarney National Park in Killarney, Ireland.

At the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland

We got stuck in a traffic jam in West Port, County Mayo, Ireland.

Just one of the three tire blowouts!

Chris is removing the spare from underneath the RV.

Ken, driving one of the sugarbeet/soybean trucks for Knutson Farms in Fisher, MN.

Here we are at the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Lake Itasca, MN.

Ken standing between the wheels of one of the tractors that both he and Chris used to plow fields after the harvest.

Chris with a sugarbeet…as big as your head!

Here Chris is sweeping up for the 1000th time on her shift at the “Flying C Ranch” in Encino, NM. We quit this job after just 17 days.

Trying not to get caught being off task at the “Flying C Ranch”.

David and Lisha, at the Silver Wind RV Park & Cabins, took us in as housekeepers after our stint at the Flying C Ranch. We loved working in the panhandle of Texas!

We helped resurrect a campground in SW Michigan. We liked it so much we came back for a second season!!

We checked the box on the work-campers list of places to work. We worked as gate-guards for IM Security at two different oil drilling sites in deep south Texas.

This is what AI thinks of us!

A spur of the moment decision…”Lets fly to Ireland for six days and have a pint with Bridget & Jake”. By far…the most expensive pint you’ll every enjoy!

No…It’s not Leonardo and Kate…but instead Ken & Chris at the Titanic Museum in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Ken & Chris at Dunluce Castle in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Sean McCafferty

Our crew…We love them!!!
