BAD NEWS UPDATE: This post was scheduled to post tomorrow morning (Tuesday). However, yesterday, on Sunday afternoon, after driving up to Joliet to start the journey, we had to make the disappointing decision to cancel the entire trip. Without going into too much detail, a family obligation is requiring our attention, and we didn’t think it possible to enjoy the trip at this time. Will you please add us and our intentions to your prayers?
What follows is what we had originally scheduled to post tomorrow morning…
The next adventure… (Please read all the way through, including the last line)
After arriving in Springfield, IL to visit with Chris’ mom for a few days, we set off for the “Loves RV Stop” in Morris, IL. On Monday, we put both the truck and the RV in storage and spent the night at a hotel in Joliet. Then today (Tuesday), we took the Amtrak train from Joliet to Union Station in Chicago, walked to the “Blue Line” and took it to O’Hare airport, and are now en route to New York!!
For the next five weeks, we will be visiting Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, France, and Italy. Oh…within all of this is a seven-night cruise of the Mediterranean!
Of course, we still have a surprise to share with you once we get on the cruise!!
Check out the video animation of the next five weeks. Be sure to watch how the little travel icon changes. We will be travelling by car, train, bus, high-speed train, plane, and cruise ship!
We want you to join us on this journey! Each day of the adventure, we will choose just five photos from the day, add a caption (because no one likes seeing photos without knowing what they are looking at), and make a quick post. No typical long-winded posts, just a taste of each day. Be prepared…If you have been following us, you know we love to visit Catholic churches, basilicas, and shrines. There will likely be one or a thousand church photos.
Make no mistake, we are fully aware of how blessed we are, and we take none of this for granted. At the risk of sounding braggy, that is not our intention. We are unworthy and humbled by God’s grace and want to share it with you.
We RVery Blessed!
