This post has been one year in the making! Before we made plans to “quit-ire” and hit the road full-time in an RV, we did A LOT of planning, research, and budget work. Below, we have outlined all of our expenses and how we did against our planned budget (October 2024-September 2025). The first year was a crap shoot for sure, but it was a calculated crap shoot! Before you read through all the detailed slides below, PLEASE think about what your guess is that it would cost to live in an RV full-time. Then PLEASE post your guess in the comments below BEFORE you read the slides. Then react on the last slide, once you’ve seen them all. Here are the budget categories to give you something to think about:
Beer, camping fees, cell phones, clothes, diesel/DEF, dining out, donations, gifts, entertainment, groceries, health coverage, health expenses, life/LTC insurance, truck/RV insurance, laundry, medications/vitamins, subscriptions/memberships, RV maintenance, RV supplies, travel/vacation, truck maintenance, internet, and propane.
These are all MONTHLY budget/actual expense averages from the whole 12 months.
