We arrived back at Wonder Woods RV Park & Cabins a month ago today! It’s kind of like coming home after a time away. The campground was empty, barren, and lacking life. But after the past few weeks, the owners and us have brought it back to life. Please look at the photos and read the captions to see what we have been up to!

In just the first year, under new ownership as an RV park, Wonder Woods was recognized as the BEST in Van Buren County, Michigan! This is based on our Google reviews.

This is just one of the FOUR pallets of brown wood mulch that were spread around the different areas of the campground.

No…This photo wasn’t staged! Both Jim and Ken actually do work! Here we are putting the gas grills back on the patios of the “Glamping Cabins”.

We bought four new picnic tables. Here is an example of “work smart, not hard”.

OK…Moving that one gas grill earned us a break. Or as we call it here at the campground, a “corporate meeting”.

There’s more than one way to power wash the picnic tables!

Here, Chris is making the beds of one of the cabins. The first weekend we were open, all four cabins were booked!

We had five different “burn areas” going. There were A LOT of sticks and leaves that needed to be raked, collected and burned. We still have more to burn!

This MFer is an Ivory Billed Pileated Wood Pecker…emphasis on PECKER! Not only does he peck at the RV windows, but he sits on the ledge of the truck window and pecks at the glass and mirrors. He has managed to leave some small scratches on the mirrors. He would have already met his demise, but now there are too many RVs and people in the park for such “action”.

On our first day back, we cut down some overgrown, straggly bushes and tree limbs. Chris managed to contract poison ivy for the third time in two years.

Home, Sweet Home

Of course, we still do some geo-caching whenever we can!

We squeezed in this class A motorhome inspection before leaving Springfield.

As well as this travel trailer.

Our Maggie and her boys visited Grandma Mary in Springfield, just before we left for Michigan.

We had a chance to have a quick visit with Sheila and Amber.

Looking festive on St Patrick’s Day!

Liam visited Springfield and Grandma Mary.

Garrett and his boys!

Bridget stopped in at the campground during a whirlwind trip to Chicago and Carlinville.

Chris was able to get away for a visit to Sean and Julie’s wedding shower!
