We thought “quit-irement” was supposed to be relaxing!!! Whew! We have been going non-stop since our arrival at the campground 7days ago. On Saturday evening we had a significant rain storm, so much so that water started dripping onto the floor of the RV from one of the ceiling speakers and from the AC vents. So, on Sunday morning we got up on the roof to try to figure out why. Our first suspicion was that the roof AC unit wasn’t secured to the roof tightly enough, so we tightened it down and secured the edges with eternabond tape. Then Chris found a crack in the roof vent. Yep! This was likely the culprit. AND…we found a small soft spot on the roof where this leak has likely been occurring for a while. UGH!!! A brand new RV and already the honeymoon is over! Ken sealed the crack on the roof vent and all around it. Then last night we had torrential rain and tadaaaaa…no water inside! Yippee!
As you likely know, we like to go to daily mass. So on Monday we found an evening mass at St George’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Ummm…Wow, was it different! It was a really cool experience and we learned a lot!! Mostly, we learned that we need to get up earlier in the day and go to 8:00am mass in Plano at a Roman Rite church!
One of the risks faced when living in an RV in a campground is falling trees. Amidst, working around the RV on Tuesday afternoon, Ken heard a loud cracking sound and turned to watch a giant tree branch come crashing down on something, the next road over from our site. This demanded an immediate “walk” to get some exercise (and be nosy)! With not as much as a whisper of wind, the branch broke away from the trunk and fell on a brand-new Ford F-150 truck.
Our house closed escrow on Monday. We praise God and thank St Joseph for his intercession (it’s a Catholic thing) in this whole house-selling journey. We are incredibly blessed.
Today is Wednesday. In the past 10 days we have done three RV inspections and fielded a lot of Shamrock RV Service advice calls. Chris was afraid that we would be bored in “quit-irement,” while in fact, we are yearning for a free day!
Until next time…Live your life to the fullest!
We RVery Blessed!
