It’s not all fun and games!!
Today we had to get the RV and truck ready for storage while we are out of the country for the next month. This meant a deep clean of the holding tanks and emptying the refrigerator and freezer of EVERYTHING!!! Thanks be to God we were able to give most of the food away!
We got everything cleaned up and stored away. We got everything that could fall off a shelf or counter secured (we think). We said our good-byes to the staff at Sun Outdoors in Millbrook and started out toward the storage facility.
Because it was only a short drive, we didn’t connect the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for the fifth wheel. Lo and behold…we got a flat!!!
We limped along to a golf course parking lot where we were able to pull in with enough space to swap out the flat with the spare. A “kind” gentleman from the golf course came out to ask, “Are you dumping your waste tanks?” No dumbo…don’t see this flat tire I am changing?? Thanks for your concern.
We got the tire swapped out, got the RV tucked into its spot in storage, and are now sitting at Discount Tire waiting for the tire to be repaired/swapped out.
The moral of today’s experience is three-fold. If you are going to life this lifestyle, you MUST have a plan, you MUST remain flexible, and when you encounter an asshat from a golf course, you MUST refrain from stooping to their level.

Somehow the valve stem got severed. We also lost the attached TPMS sensor.

We used this ramp as well as a bottle jack to lift the trailer so we could change the tire.

When most people go on vacation, they don’t have to completely empty the refrigerator and freezer. This is the RV life!
