While spending the summer in SW Michigan, we were absolutely blessed with MANY visitors! While we tried to always remember to take pictures with our visitors, we weren’t always successful. Some people just stopped by for a quick chat, while others came for a day or five and either camped in the campground or stayed in one of the rental cabins.
We so appreciate the visits. It helps to keep us connected.
Now…If your photo isn’t below, you MUST make plans to visit us in the future! We will keep everyone posted on our plans for next summer. You’ll never guess where we will be for the summer of 2026, but go ahead and make your best guess in the comments!!
Greg and Jamie were our first visitors. We met Greg at the National RV Training Academy in Athens, TX three years ago.
Mike Bowe and Chris travelled in “Up with People” 40 years ago!
Our daughter Bridget visited! She lives and works in Colorado, but was visiting family and friends in Illinois, so she took the Amtrak train from Springfield, IL to Dowagiac, MI.
We visited!!
These are visitors, but rather our employers and now friends, Lori and Jim.
Our son Sean visited! He lives and works in Fort Wayne, IN.
We met with Jennifer Eicherheiser and Mary Reagan. Chris grew up with Jennifer. Mary and her husband Tom were best friends with Chris’ Mom and dad, who also happened to be “Mary and Tom!!”
Our daughter Sheila and her partner Amber stayed in the campground for a few days!
Maggie and our grandsons Henry and Benson visited!! Maggie and Benny stayed in a cabin and Hal stayed in the RV with us!
Friends and former co-workers of Ken’s, Lisa and Renee stayed in the cabins with their families!
Our “Meet in the Middle” group stayed in the Airbnb house on property!!

Bob and Denise Bayer stopped by for a visit! Chris worked with them at Hine’s VA back in the early 1990’s. Denise was Chris’ preceptor!
Dave and Keegan flew into the local Dowagiac airport to meet us for lunch!! Ken and Dave were flight instructors at Clow Airport, Bolingbrook, IL back in the late 1980’s!
Our “First Friday” friends, Melissa and Jody met us for dinner nearby!! Jody and Ken met at Circuit City back in the late 1990’s.
An old neighbor of Ken’s from the “East Side”, Marie Rokicki, brought four of her friends and they stayed in two of the cabins!!
Scouting friends Kevin and Teresa Crosson stayed in the campground for a week!
Noreen and Ken are friends from the old neighborhood and high-school. Noreen stopped by a couple of times! Noreen also worked at the same hospital as Chris in Joliet!
We went to a production in a nearby town called “The Grammar Lady”. We met a former Up with People castmate of Chris’, Sheila Dettoff.
Cindy and Bruce Limbach visited!! They got us hooked on inflatable kayaks! Ken met them through his time at Clow Airport!
Long time, no see! Mary Pat and Mike Mayo are friends of Ken’s from high school. We caught up with them a couple of times while in the Sister Lakes, after not seeing each other in FORTY years! We chatted like it had only been yesterday!
Sandy and Eric Wesel – Sandy is a Physical Therapist at the hospital in Joliet, where Chris worked.
Ann & Jerry Conrad visited! They are friends from the old neighborhood in Joliet. We met Ann’s aunt as well, when she stopped in to see the campground. The world is VERY SMALL!!
