Our time at the Silver Wind Campground and Cabins is quickly coming to an end. We plan to leave here on March 15.
If you know us well, you know that we are P L A N N E R S ! ! ! We’ve known about this next gig since the end of this past October. We like to know the next work-camping opportunity well in advance.
We will be working as campground managers and hosts at the Wonder Woods Campground in the Sister Lakes area of Dowagiac, Michigan between Round and Crooked Lakes. The campground is small with just 30 full hook-up sites, but it also has four brand new rustic cabins, a game room, a picnic pavilion, a playground, a bathhouse, AND a 4200 square foot home that is available for family gatherings through Airbnb. We will be responsible for everything just mentioned! We will be the only work-campers on site. The owner of the campground lives just twenty minutes away. Maybe some of you will come and visit??
We will be at Wonder Woods from April 1 through October 31. We chose this opportunity because Chris wants to be closer to her Mom who lives in Springfield, Illinois. The drive from Dowagiac, Mi to Springfield is just about 5 hours, or she can take the train from Dowagiac into Chicago and then from Chicago down to Springfield in about 7 hours. We will have two days off per week, so Chris can leave the campground on say a Monday evening, spend a day or two in Springfield, and return.
